Featured in this review are La La’s Court Mineral Eye Shadow Palette, Mineral Mascara, Mineral Eyeliner, Mineral Lip Shine and Mineral Lipstick. Mineral Kohl Eyeliner Description The Mineral Kohl Eyeliner is long-lasting eyeliner, available in two shades: Earth and Black. Review I didn't find anything particularly special about the eyeliner, but it does have a nice, creamy texture that applies smoothly for a precise line or to make a natural or smoky eye look. La La’s Court Mineral Eye Shadow La La's Court Mineral Eye Shadow Photo: Motives For La La Description La La’s Court Mineral Eye Shadow is a palette featuring five mineral-based eye shadows that can easily transition from day to night looks. Features The eyes shadow provides long-lasting color that won’t crease. The manufacturing description also promises that the shadows deflect the light away from fine lines, imperfections, and uneven skin tone. Review While I can’t vouch for the eye shadow’s ability to deflect away from fine lines or imperfections, it does go on smoothly, providing nice color. La La’s Court Mineral Eye Shadow Palette contains: Paparazzi, a shimmery pink gold shade that can also be used as a highlighter; Off Broadway, pearlized charcoal gray with a touch of olive to create a smoky eye; After Party, pearlized tawny plum; Entourage, shimmery peridot (an olive hue) and Unmentionable, a pearlized red coral. I like all of the shades in this palette. The shades are described as highly pigmented and, hurrah, they really do have enough pigment to show up on darker skin tones. Mineral Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara Description A volumizing and lengthening mascara, that is smudge-free and flake free, to give thick lashes with every swipe and will pull up and curl lashes without the need for an eyelash curler. Review While it lengthened and lightly curled my eyelashes, I didn’t particularly notice much volume. It did separate the lashes for a flirty look. Photo: Motives For La La Description The Mineral Lipsticks are available in warm and cool shades and are infused with antioxidants to protect and nourish lips and keep them moisturized, looking smooth and firmer. The formula contains grapeseed, jojoba and avocado oils, vitamin E and shea butter. The Mineral Lipsticks are available in seven shades. Review I was sent Red Carpet (a nice, sheer red), Beso (dark pink) and 24K (a gold lipstick). I didn’t like 24K worn alone, but it looked great when applied over the Lip Shine. I thought Beso would look horrible on me, but it was actually just a tad bit brighter than my natural lip color and therefore looked fine. It isn’t a shade that I would particularly buy, but it did look nice with Lip Shine in Drama Queen applied over it. Hot Lips Quick Tips. The Mineral Lip Shine is a mineral-based, lip glaze that hydrates and conditions the lips and protects them from dryness. The Lip Shines are available in 12 shades of browns, reds, pinks and nudes. Review I tested Preciosa (golden tan), Bella (a gorgeous, sparkling bronzy brick-brown), Amazing (pinkish cream color) and Flirt (fuchsia). These lip shines can be worn alone or over lipstick. I actually used 24 K Lipstick over the Lip Shine in Drama Queen as an experiment, and it looked great. Final Word Overall, I liked all of the products that I received for review. While I have used better eyeliners and mascaras, I love the lipsticks, lip shines and the eye shadow palette. It's definitely a complementary line of color cosmetics for women of color.
