Start-up Options:
1. MOTIVES Fast Start Kits:
Most people start their business with the Motives Fast Start Kit or the Motives for La La Fast Start Kit for $399.00 +tax. These kits includes the $129.95 subscription and are the most economical way to enter the business. I recommend a Fast Start Kit because they include a very nice selection of products priced even lower than our regular distributor price and they come with extra BV so that you can qualify your business for less. The kits also include business building tools such as product catalogs and Getting Started Guides for some of your potential business partners.
2. MOTIVES Beauty Advisor Kit:
This is the least expensive option $149.95 to start your MOTIVES Business and includes a nice selection of products plus the $129.95 subscription fee. There is no business volume points included in this option so your first 200 BV points from purchases or sales will have to be used to qualify your MOTIVES business.
You do not need to start with one of the Fast Start Kits. You could purchase other products for your initial order instead, however, the cost to start and qualify your business will be higher. Depending on what products you select, it may range anywhere from $600-$750. It is a much better value to start with the Fast Start Kit and then order anything else that you like at distributor cost in a separate order.

$20/month – Unfranchise Management System (UFMS)
This is your online back-office. It is the software that allows you to manage and monitor your business. The first 2 months of UFMS are included with either of the Fast Start Program kits.

$99/year – Annual Subscription Renewal
This occurs every year on your anniversary month. It is a renewal of the initial $129.95 subscription.

Sales Volume Requirements:
Quarterly Volume Requirement – Distributors are required to order/sell $200 (retail) of products each quarter.
Transfer Buy – There is a separate personal volume requirement called a Transfer Buy. This is a monthly order that is required in order to keep our commission banks open from month-to-month. The products in your transfer buy may be counted toward the quarterly volume requirement.
The transfer buy begins in the third month. The amount is based on the following guidelines:
- 50 BV per month until you personally sponsor two distributors and earn your first $300 commission check,
- 100 BV per month until you have earned $1500 in commissions, and
- 150 BV per month after that. The amount will never increases again after that.
Please Note: Most people that work with Motives use their transfer buy for Motives products since this allows them to build a bigger kit and/or gives them products to sell to their customers. However, your transfer buy is not limited to cosmetics and skincare. Motives Cosmetics is a division of a larger company, Market America. You may choose to include products from any of our other product categories: health and nutrition, weight management, personal care, pet health, auto care, home and garden, and more. Your transfer buy should not cost money that you are not already spending for your household or business. You may simply replace retail brands that you are already buying at local stores with our own brands with the added benefit that you get to purchase equal or better products at distributor cost. If you have any questions about this I will be very happy to explain it in more detail.

- Local Seminar in your area (Quarterly) – Tickets are $30 for 1 day
- International Convention in Greensboro, NC (August 7-10, 2014) – Tickets are $200 for 3 full days of training
- World Conference in Miami, FL (Jan/Feb 2015) – Tickets are $200 for 3 full days of training

The Strongly Recommended training should be considered required if you want to maximize your earnings potential. While I know dozens of Independent Distributors that make very large incomes with their Motives Cosmetics business, I do not know of any that make a large income and do not attend their Local Seminars, International Convention, and World Conference.
Training is the key to your success.
