1. How were you introduced to
Motives?
I was
introduced to Market America when I owned my salon.
My
business partner & co-owner of my salon Deborah Compeau came across the
health and nutrition products and they were improving her daughter’s health
tremendously. I always had an interest in health and nutrition, the beauty from
the inside out concept. I will admit, it did take her a while to convince me to
evaluate and thank about the business. For some reason, I had a preconceived
notion that it was a multi-level company. Owning a salon, I was approached with
everything and had a bad experience with a MLM company. I realized it wasn’t
like that after looking at the business plan and structure.
2. What made you want to learn more
and eventually partner?
I
analyzed the business plan and saw the vision of the company and I loved that
there were many different divisions, many of which I could implement within the
salon. The products are amazing quality, at affordable prices. I could retail
them from my salon or my website and didn’t have to keep a large inventory. I
spent years testing other products trying to find something unique that I
liked…I’m pretty picky. Once I saw the custom blend, I knew it would be a
game changer. In an evolving industry, it is important to us to have
products and services that are unique and set us apart from the competition. I
was also thrilled that it was a way for others to lock arms and work together
by leveraging each other’s strengths. Coming from a traditional business in a
competitive industry, this was refreshing. I also loved how the company is
always ahead of the trends and has been financially sound for 25 years.
3. How have you leveraged GMTSS
events to build your belief/ propel your success?
I
immediately started to attend as many trainings as I could and quickly realized
that I had never been exposed to a training system like it. Not only was
I able to learn about makeup, but also how to become a better businesswoman. I
was taught how to make goals, how to create action plans, and was given the
tools necessary to do it. I started to meet successful people in the industry
and notice tremendous personal growth that I started implementing in all
aspects of my life.
4. What do you feel is the best way
to expand your Motives team?
I have
a true passion for empowering others on so many levels. I love to find out more
about their goals and dreams to see if I can help them in any way. With my
salon owner experience, I able to assist other salon & spa owners with
implementing different systems that will help them generate revenue, along with
helping other independent beauty professionals. I mentor others ready to
jump in and learn how to become a beautypreneur or entrepreneur through our
other divisions.
5. Is there anything that you’d
recommend others do as a beauty entrepreneur in order to maximize success?
Use
the tools and take action. This company gives us everything we could possibly
need. State of the art websites, amazing promotional tools, outlines, and
mentoring by others. I could go on and on…It doesn’t get any
better. But keep it simple and have fun doing it. Surround yourself
with others and build a family where you can all build each other up!
6. What are you most excited about in
regards to long-term goals leveraging Motives & Market America?
Because
of this business, I’ve been able to sell my salon, and semi-retire to have more
of my time back. I loved what I did, but working 70 hours a week behind the
chair takes its toll. I am now present more in my family’s lives and we have
been able to create so many more memories together. We will continue to travel,
and give my kids more opportunities. I became a Certified Motives Trainer so
that I can teach and touch even more people. I love that I am still able to be
in an industry that I have an immense passion for. Continuing to empower my
clients while building a residual income and continue to mentor others that
also want a residual income is such a gift. No matter what their goals are, I’m
ready to help. I love this business!!
